About Us
The Runaways Animal Rescue was founded in March 2020, at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, with a mission to help the most vulnerable animals in need. What began as a small, foster-based operation quickly grew into something much bigger. In 2021, thanks to the generosity of an angel investor and countless individual donors, we were able to purchase and renovate a 7,000 sq ft facility—turning our dream of a full-service rescue into a reality.
Since then, we’ve saved over 4,000 animals, offering them a second chance at life through medical care, rehabilitation, fostering, and adoption. With only five dedicated employees, our rescue is powered by the passion and hard work of over 100 incredible volunteers.
We’re proud of the impact we’ve made—not only for the animals, but for the people in our community and surrounding counties who support and benefit from our work. As we continue to grow, our mission remains the same: to rescue, heal, and advocate for those who need us most.
