Are the heart of our rescue
As a small nonprofit, we truly couldn’t do what we do without our incredible volunteers. From cleaning and caring for animals at our facility, to opening their homes as fosters, to representing us at local events—our volunteers are the backbone of our mission.

Every hour they give helps save lives. Whether it’s walking dogs, bottle-feeding kittens, or simply offering love to animals in need, their support allows us to keep going. If you’re passionate about animals and want to make a real difference, we’d love to have you join our volunteer family.

Hear From Our Volunteers
I started volunteering at The Runaways Animal Rescue because I love animals and I wanted to do something positive and give back. I started once a week helping with dog care, because I’ve had dogs all my life and I am comfortable with dogs, and it has grown into a passion for me. I love playing with the dogs and walking them, but I also enjoy cleaning their kennels and making their rooms comfy and clean. I can’t express the joy I feel when I see one of these sweet souls being adopted!
