Adopting a rescue pet is one of the most meaningful ways to change an animal’s life. The Runaways Animal Rescue is a nonprofit animal rescue located in Port Richey, Florida serving Pasco County and the greater Tampa Bay area. We rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs, cats, rabbits, small mammals, and other companion animals who need a second chance.
Our adoption process is designed to match every animal with a safe, loving home while making the experience simple and transparent for adopters. Pet Adoption Process
Currently all adoptions are done by appointment Except every Saturday 12-4pm we are open to the public for walk in adoptions

Browse the available pets for adoption.

Submit an application for the pet you like (you can put more than one pets name on the application).

A Runaways representative will contact you within 48 hours (we appreciate your patience as we work as quickly as possible) to schedule a time/day to meet the pet(s).

Once you decide after meeting the pet we can complete the adoption paperwork that day!

Why The Fee?
All of our animals are spayed and neutered, microchipped, dewormed, age-appropriately vaccinated, and treated with flea, tick, and heart-worm preventative. All dogs are heart-worm tested and all cats are tested for FIV & FELV.
Since we take in so many medical cases, giving every animal a chance, some of the fees overlap and help support other animals in our care.
